Privacy & cookies
This page explains what data is processed when you visit Sailing Boy and how you can control which external services are loaded.
Adjust your consent at any time
You can change your choices or withdraw your consent entirely at any time.
Necessary storage
To operate the site, we store your consent choices locally in your browser (localStorage, key sailing-boy-consent). A session token is stored for logging in to the editorial area. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR and Section 25(2) TDDDG, respectively.
Google Maps – only with consent
Maps are provided by Google Maps (Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC, USA). We load maps only if you have expressly consented beforehand (two-click principle). Without consent, no Google server is contacted – you see a placeholder instead.
When the map is enabled, your IP address, browser and device information are transmitted to Google; data may be transferred to the USA. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent), Art. 49(1)(a) GDPR for transfers to third countries.
OpenStreetMap & OpenSeaMap – only with consent
The nautical charts in the cruising guide use map tiles from OpenStreetMap (OpenStreetMap Foundation, United Kingdom) and OpenSeaMap. These are also loaded only after you consent to the “Maps” category. Your IP address is transmitted to their servers in the process. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
Analytics
Anonymous usage statistics are collected only with consent and are used solely to improve the content. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
Withdrawal of consent
You can withdraw your consent at any time via the cookie settings (button above or in the footer). Once consent is withdrawn, external services will immediately stop loading.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise these rights, please use the contact address provided in the legal notice.
